Get to Know Our Team of Caretakers
Infant Room
Ms. Nita is our Lead Teacher in the Infant room. She joined the Flying Hills Preschool team in the fall of 2017 and brings with her over 20 years of early childhood experience. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and has worked with all age groups ranging from infants through school age. She enjoys spending time with her husband and son.
Ms. Colleen is the Assistant Teacher in the Infant room and joined the Flying Hills Preschool team in January 2018. Colleen has been working in child care since 1999 and holds an Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy and a Child Development Associate Credential. She enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons, and her extended family.
Ms. Donna is the newest addition to our Infant room, working on a part-time/sub basis since October 2018. She comes to us with over 15 years of experience in the early childhood field. Donna spent 7 years working in the Infant/Toddler program at Montessori Country Day School and for the last 4 years, she worked as an Assistant Teacher in a preschool classroom at Wilson Child Care. When she's not working in the baby room at Flying Hills, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 5 children.
Toddler Room
Ms. Dawn is our Lead Teacher in the Toddler room. She joined the Flying Hills Preschool team in 2014. She began working in early childhood education in 2009 after teaching dance to children for 15 years. When she is not working, Dawn enjoys spending time with her own children, family, and friends.
Miss Hannah is an Assistant Teacher in our Toddler classroom. She is a graduate of Twin Valley High School where she completed an internship for school working with kindergarteners at Twin Valley Elementary School. In addition to this experience, she has worked as a Teacher's Aide at Whole Child Learning Center and recently completed her first semester at Millersville University studying Special Education.
Miss Bree is the newest member of the Flying Hills Preschool team. She is currently working towards her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Alvernia University and has a strong interest in Pre-Med. Bree has plenty of experience working with kids since she is the oldest of several siblings. Since she enjoys working with all age groups, you will find her lending her expertise in all of our classrooms.
Preschool Classroom
Ms. Lori is the Lead Teacher in our Preschool classroom. She has been teaching at Flying Hills Preschool since 2008. Lori holds an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education. She spent over 20 years working in Head Start as a Preschool Teacher. She also has experience as an Assistant Director. In her spare time, Lori likes spending time with her family and her grandson.
Pre-K Classroom
Mrs. Dee is the Lead Teacher in our Pre-k classroom. She joined our team in August 2019 and comes to us with over 20 years of teaching experience. Mrs. Dee has her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education. When she's not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, 3 children, and 2 grandchildren.
Director
Ms. Melanie began directing Flying Hills Preschool in August 2017. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies and a Master's degree in Health Services Administration. She began her early childhood career teaching preschool right out of college, spent 6 years working in Early Intervention providing supports and services to children with developmental delays, and found her niche as a school director. She has spent the last 14 years in this role. When she's not working, Melanie enjoys spending time with her husband, 2 kids, and their dogs.
School Age
Miss Kim joined the Flying Hills Preschool staff in April 2019. She has her Associate's degree in ECE and currently works as a Paraprofessional for Exeter School District in one of their Autistic Support Classrooms. You can find her working with our Preschool and School-Age kids in the afternoons.
Miss Natasha joined the Flying Hills Preschool team in January 2020. She has a Bachelor's degree from Penn State University and is considering going back to school to earn her teaching degree. She works with our PS/PK and School-Age kids in the afternoon. When Natasha is not at work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
